Saha scored on his debut |
Louis Saha has leapt to the defence of his agent following his "dream" 12.8m move to Manchester United. The role of agents has been a major part of the ongoing dispute between United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and John Magnier and JP McManus.
And in an effort to promote greater openess in their transfer dealings, United revealed they paid 750,000 to Saha's agent Branko Stoic.
"He did everything right to make the move happen for me," Saha said.
Magnier and JP McManus, United's major shareholders, have questioned the fees paid to representatives of a host of recent signings, including Rio Ferdinand, Tim Howard and Kleberson.
But Saha said Stoic was vital in his move to Old Trafford.
"My agent played a big part in me joining this club, so I have to say thank you to him," the 25-year-old said.
"I cannot praise him high enough for getting me the move of my dreams. He did a job and I was definitely happy with it.
"If people don't understand the way it happened then that is their choice.
"But I'm not really affected by the way my agent earns his money because he made it happen and I'm happy I'm at Manchester United."
