Man Utd take Kenyon action
Peter Kenyon
Manchester United have reported Chelsea to the Premier League after speculation that Peter Kenyon has started his role as the Blues' new chief executive.

Kenyon left the same post at Old Trafford in September but is still under contract at United.

A report in Spain alleged that Kenyon had already begun negotiations to bring Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado to Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United responded by pointing the matter out to Premiership chiefs.

Kenyon is serving a period of "gardening leave" from Old Trafford while an agreement is reached as to when he can take up duties at Chelsea.

Manchester United were ready to let the 49-year-old start work in January before deciding to keep Kenyon under contract until the summer - unless Chelsea can come up with a compensation package.

"Negotiations are on-going and no agreement has been reached on settling the departure date," said a United spokesperson.
