| Thursday, 22 March, 2001, 16:57 GMT Goram relishing Man Utd challenge ![]() Goram spent most of the 1990s as a Rangers player Andy Goram says he is not worried at the thought of playing for Premiership champions Manchester United. The 36-year-old goalkeeper could end up playing in the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich if Fabien Barthez fails to overcome a thigh injury. But the Scot, a 100,000 loan capture from Motherwell, insists he can handle any occasion. "If someone had told me last week that I'd be coming to Manchester United I'd have said they were off their heads," said the former Rangers player. Experience "But having played in the Champions League and in 'Old Firm' games, nothing down here is going to faze me." Goram has won 43 caps for his country and will be linking up with the man who gave him his international debut. Sir Alex Ferguson picked Goram to play against East Germany in 1986 when he was caretaker boss following the death of Jock Stein. Goram also has previous Champions League experience, having been part of the Rangers side that came within one match of reaching the Champions League final in 1992-93. "Being here doesn't worry me, I'm glad I've had the experience. Without it, I think I could have struggled," he said. |
