Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says defender Pablo Zabaleta will miss Sunday's Premier League game against Newcastle with a hamstring injury.
The problem forced the Argentine off at half-time in City's 1-1 Europa League draw against Italian side Juventus.
"It is a hamstring," said Mancini. "I do not believe it is serious but he won't play on Sunday."
City went behind to a Vincenzo Iaquinta goal before Adam Johnson equalised as the Group A game finished level.
"I don't know why we started so slowly," said Mancini. "We thought we could control the game but after Juventus scored, the match changed.

"Sometimes that can happen when you have to play every three days."
City's workload is a worry for Mancini and he believes the injuries are also having an impact on striker Carlos Tevez.
"I am concerned about the situation," said Mancini. "If we had all our strikers available probably sometimes Carlos could miss a game.
"But we knew we would have a problem with injuries until the end of this month.
"After the next lot of internationals, we might get some players back and Jo and Emmanuel Adebayor might be 100%.".
Juventus coach Luigi del Neri was satisfied with the result against a City side he is expecting to have a major say in the Europa League.
"Money is not everything but it does allow you to buy some important players," he said.
"They have a great coach, who knows what he is doing and how to go about his job. I expect them to go further and further."
