![]() | Wednesday, 19 July, 2000, 11:42 GMT City pull plug on Amokachi deal ![]() Amokachi's knee problem made Royle think twice Manchester City have pulled out of bringing former Everton striker Daniel Amokachi back to the Premiership. Amokachi, who played under Royle at Goodison Park, was due to join City on a month's loan but an examination on his knee showed that the striker was not fully fit. "Daniel's knee is not what we would expect it to be at this moment. I will be speaking with Daniel during the course of the day and explaining this to him," said Royle. "In terms of the medical condition of his knee, Manchester City will not be taking this any further. That's what this trial was for. "Don't get me wrong, his knee is not a write-off but because of the money involved with paying players these days, and a possible small purchase price, I will have to tell Daniel the bad news." | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Other top Man City stories: Links to top Man City stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
