Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha will miss the rest of the season after dislocating his shoulder.
The 21-year-old was carried off during the 2-0 defeat at home to Chelsea on Saturday and has since undergone keyhole surgery on his left shoulder.
Manager Sven-Goran Eriksson said: "He is out for the season, but hopefully he will be okay when we start pre-season.
"The doctor says he is out for three months. He had surgery on Tuesday, but I'm told at this stage it looks good."
Onuoha joins fellow defender Micah Richards - who recently had a knee operation - on the sidelines.
