Richards has been the subject of intense transfer speculation |
England defender Micah Richards says he intends to stay with Manchester City "for years to come" despite continued speculation about his future. The 18-year-old right-back signed a four-year contract at the club last summer, but has been repeatedly linked with a move to Chelsea.
"I'm a Manchester City player, so hopefully I'll be here for years to come," said Richards.
Richards follows midfielder Joey Barton in committing himself to City.
"Joey is getting better and better and I thought he was outstanding against Sheffield Wednesday (in City's 2-1 FA Cup win)," added Richards.
"Like he said, he will be here for years to come and I'm the same.
"The club is going forward all the time and we're unbeaten in six games.
"Hopefully we can keep it going and have a good run in the FA Cup."
Richards made an assured debut for England during the friendly against Holland in Amsterdam last November.
"Hopefully I'll be involved again," said Richards.
"I really enjoyed playing against Holland and I felt comfortable there."
