Mills looks likely to be on his way out of Manchester City |
Former England defender Danny Mills has been told he can leave Manchester City. The 31-year-old broke a leg at Arsenal in October, but was frozen out of City's final fixtures even though he returned to fitness in February.
He said: "I'm disappointed the way things have turned out. I don't think the manager liked me asking questions or making suggestions.
"I will see what offers are on the table, but if nothing materialises I will stay and fight for my place."
Mills admitted he had been outspoken, but said: "Of course I was frustrated at not being in the team but my opinions were an effort to improve the team, whether I was in it or not.
"We must all want to learn and improve."
City boss Stuart Pearce said: "Our results in the last dozen games were just not good enough. We can look for excuses but that's not my way.
"The bottom line is we under-achieved. I can't argue about that."
