Reyna had only just returned from injury |
Manchester City have suffered a blow after learning that midfielder Claudio Reyna faces a spell out injured with a recurrence of a thigh injury. The USA skipper made his return to action after eight weeks out in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Blackburn.
But the problem flared up and he faces another spell on the sidelines.
The news compounds City's injury woes after they lost defender Ben Thatcher for three months after complications that arose following ankle surgery.
"It is disappointing for Claudio and disappointing for the club," said City boss Kevin Keegan.
"We had done everything right with him but he told me that he felt it again after five minutes of going on.
"He didn't want to come off as players obviously don't like leaving the field of play after they have just gone on.
"We will have to see how long he will be out for but it is a major blow again and we will have to take it on the chin."
