Macclesfield have completed the signing of Manchester United goalkeeper Tommy Lee on a month's loan.

Alan Fettis' back-up Tim Deasy has had a cartilage operation and 20-year-old Lee will be on the bench at Northampton on Saturday.

Macclesfield manager Brian Horton said: "I've seen him play for United's reserves a few times.

"We're grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson for letting him come. It gives Deasy a month to recuperate."
