Luton Town have added Dagenham and Redbridge striker Mark Nwokeji to their squad following the month-long loan signing of goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington.
Nwokeji, 27, will remain at Kenilworth Road until January 2010.
Hatters' boss Richard Money told BBC Three Counties Radio: "His goal-scoring record is excellent and I'm sure he'll make an impact in the next few weeks."
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Pilkington was signed as cover for the injured Mark Tyler.
"If we get through to next Thursday without bringing a keeper in, and something happened to Shane Gore, I don't think the Conference would allow us to bring one in, as we have a young goalkeeper," Money explained.
"I don't think it's fair on Mark Tyler, and certainly not fair on the group, to get to every Friday morning to see whether he's fit.
"I think it's much better that we take him out of the firing line for two or three weeks, and let him recover," Money said.
"And the reason we can do that is because we have been given the opportunity to take someone of Kevin's vast experience."
