Luton 3-0 Grays

Luton Town

Luton eased through to the first round of the FA Cup beating a lacklustre Grays side at Kenilworth Road.

Shane Blackett fired Luton ahead within 10 minutes and the result was decided before the break when Petar Rnkovic turned a cross into his own net.

The second half was largely forgettable, midfielder Asa Hall sealing the win after 82 minutes.

The victory completes the caretaker spell of Alan Nielson and Kevin Watson, who won four and drew one from five.

They now wait to see what their future holds after an impressive reign since Mick Harford's departure from Kenilworth Road.

Neilson told BBC Three Counties Radio: "I am very pleased. The first half we passed the ball well and moved it.

"The second half we came out a little bit sloppy, but near the end we got it going again."

Neilson will not be drawn into speculation as to who will be the new manager, but he did express his wish to stay at the club, adding: "I have been here for 18 months on the youth side, then with Mick and the first team.

"I've enjoyed my time here and hopefully if I'm manager or someone else comes in I'll still be working here."
