Flynn in legal bid for Livi cash

Pearse Flynn
Pearse Flynn claims Livingston's owners reneged on a loan agreement.

Livingston's former owner has launched a legal action to recover 333,000 he claims he loaned the club last season.

The money was intended to keep the First Division club afloat during a previous period of financial turmoil.

Pearse Flynn says the funds were due to be paid back to him after the sale of a former nightclub based at Almondvale.

No-one from the club was willing to comment on Flynn's claims, although last week club representatives insisted there are no current financial issues.

The fresh claims arrive as a growing number of creditors insist they are owed money by the club's Italian owners.

The consortium, who claim the money from the nightclub sale should be paid to them and not Flynn, say they are finding money to pay their players.

However, this month was the first time that they have actually been paid on time so far this season.

Flynn posted a summons at the Court of Session in Edinburgh on Wednesday claiming that the new owners had reneged on an agreement made when the club was sold to them six months ago.

The Italian consortium, led by Angelo Massone and Tomasso Angelini, have three days to lodge a defence.

A housing development firm who purchased the nightclub has put the money in a holding account until the dispute between Flynn and the new owners is resolved.
