Landi hopes to create a winning formula of Scots and foreigners
Livingston's new Italian manager, Roberto Landi says he will assemble a mix of home-grown talent and foreign imports in his new-look team.
Landi, 52, has signed a two-year deal with the Lions following a takeover by a consortium from his homeland.
"I want to take from the Scottish players the mentality, the heart and the physical mentality," Landi said.
"From the foreign players I want to take the quality of the tactical and the technical - it is a very good mix."
Landi says that a similar approach, which also combines youth and experience, has produced good results at his previous clubs.
"In football there are only two solutions," he continued.
"First you take the top level player with the big salary and the big contract, and you don't have it one hundred percent that you are guaranteed to have a good result.
"Or you try to mix young players with good experience and you build for the future." The Italian has previously managed the Under-21 national sides of Lithuania, Quatar and Georgia.
Former Celtic, Dunfermline and Livingston manager Davie Hay has returned to Almondvale to act as a consultant to Landi.
