Dorrans has come through the Livingston youth ranks
West Bromwich Albion have agreed a 200,000-plus fee to sign Livingston winger Graham Dorrans in the summer.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle had been hoping to step in if the deal fell through for a 20-year-old also linked with Rangers, Hearts and Middlesbrough.
A Livi spokesman said: "The agreement reached represents a good deal for both club and player.
"And we are doubly pleased that we have been able to retain his services for the rest of the season."
Dorrans, who had been with Livi since the age of 13 and still had 18 months of his contract still to run, is the Scottish First Division club's top scorer this season with 10 goals.
And he impressed West Brom manager Tony Mowbray during a recent trial spell.
I am happy with the squad, so it is unlikely we will make any other additions before the window shuts
Inverness player-manager Craig Brewster had earlier told his club website: "Dorrans is a player I rate and I would love to bring him to the club, but we are stuck in the middle at the moment.
"As I have stated on many occasions, I am happy with the squad, so it is unlikely we will make any other additions before the window shuts."
Brewster, meanwhile, said that talks were continuing with Ross Tokely, Dennis Wyness and Russell Duncan about extended contracts.
