Allan Preston takes over from former manager Davie Hay |
Former first-team coach Allan Preston has been confirmed as manager on the day Pearse Flynn's Lionheart consortium took control of Livingston. Chartered accountant Vivien Kyles is to become the first female general manager in the Scottish Premier League.
And Dr Tony Kinder, a former club director, becomes chairman.
Flynn said: "Our absolute priority will be to ensure that Allan Preston and his management team can start planning properly for the new season."
Preston, who turned out for Dundee United, Dunfermline Athletic and St Johnstone, was forced to retire from playing with a hip problem in 2000 and was assistant manager at Macclesfield Town before joining the coaching staff at Livingston the following year.
The 34-year-old, granted a two-year deal, is now the youngest manager in the top flight, former boss Davie Hay having been allowed to leave at the end of his contract.

Preston, who leads a management team that includes Billy Kirkwood and Paul Hegarty, must quickly build a squad as there are presently only four players left under contract. Lionheart has yet to complete a takeover of the club, presently under administration, but a management agreement allows the club to plan for the future.
"There are a few hurdles to be overcome during the weeks ahead, but we move forward with confidence and the knowledge that we have the goodwill and support of Livingston supporters, friends and commercial partners," said Flynn.
Flynn outlined that the plan was to appoint an interim general manager and chairman before assuming full management control of a club.
"We are developing a team which will ensure that Livingston is well-managed, well-led and which can compete successfully on the pitch as well as in the commercial areas required to sustain the best possible football operation," he said.
"We would like to thank everyone who has played a part in ensuring the future of Livingston, not least the supporters, whose enthusiasm and backing are extremely gratifying."
Flynn cannot assume full financial control until former owner Dominic Keane hands over his controlling shares.
Since the season ended, Marvin Andrews, Lee Makel, Derek Lilley, Jon-Paul McGovern and Jamie McAllister have agreed moves to other clubs.
Only David McNamee, Burton O'Brien, Richard Brittain and Colin McMenamin are contracted for next term.
