Swindon Town goalkeeper Jamie Stephens has joined the Liverpool academy until the summer of 2012.
The 16-year-old has been training with the Premier League side this season and is set to sign a professional contract on his 17th birthday on 25 August.
Robins chairman Andrew Fitton told the club website: "Being such a specialist position, the opportunity to go is the right move for him.
"It will give him a chance to play in tournaments all over the world."
Fitton added: "You can expect to see more interaction between Swindon and clubs such as Liverpool with talented players such as Stephen Darby coming on loan.
"I hope one day Jamie Stephens may come back to Swindon, maybe on loan from Liverpool, and get his first taste of league football at the County Ground."
