Reds' Agger in dark over future

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger admits he "does not have a clue" if he will still be at the club next season.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in summer 2010 and despite Rafa Benitez saying he wants to keep him, Agger says he needs to hear more than flattery.

"It is nice to hear the manager wants to keep me, but the most important thing is what he tells me when I look him in the eyes," he said.

"It's not what he says in the paper, it is what he says behind closed doors."

Agger, who has been linked with AC Milan, scored a stunning goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over Blackburn, but injuries and the form of Martin Skrtel mean he has only had limited chances this season.

"I am at the stage of my career where I need to play, and want to play, but that situation has nothing to do with the contract talks," he said.

"I don't know when things will be decided. I don't have a clue. In my heart, I hope I will be here next season."
