"I'm not being big-headed but I've scored a lot of goals in the last 10 years and it's not just going to go away like that," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"I never get down about things. Some players get their head down and cry but I'm too mentally strong for that.
"I've only been here a few months and sometimes it does take a little time to settle in. I prefer to be judged a little further down the line than now."
Keane was recalled to the Liverpool starting line-up for Tuesday's Champions League clash at PSV Eindhoven.
He played the entire game and set up David Ngog to score Liverpool's final goal in their 3-1 win.
"If I keep doing performances like that and keep being involved in the game it will only matter of time before I score a lot of goals," he said.
"I love scoring goals but I love being involved in the game and creating chances for other people.
"Since I've been here I've got a few good assists. As long as I keep doing well for the team, that's the most important thing."
