Kuyt has scored six goals for Liverpool so far this season

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has dismissed suggestions that the Reds are not ruthless enough in front of goal.

In recent weeks Liverpool have surrendered wining positions in matches against Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, games they largely dominated.

The Dutch international told BBC Radio Merseyside: "Sometimes it is like this in football [but] we have come back from behind many times this season.

"We've now conceded late goals but we've had a really good season."

Kuyt believes his team-mates are strong enough to bounce back from their recent disappointments in Madrid and London.

"As a team and as players, we don't look back too much. We just look forward and we can't wait to play the game against Atletico.

"We play in the toughest league in Europe so sometimes things like this happen and you just have to go on and play the football like we have this season, and I know we will win a lot of games in a row again," added Kuyt.
