Aurelio ruptured his Achilles tendon against PSV |
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is confident Brazilian Fabio Aurelio will recover from injury in time to take part in training ahead of next season. The 28-year-old has had surgery after rupturing the Achilles tendon in his right leg during the Champions League win against PSV Eindhoven.
Benitez told Liverpool's website: "He will be fit for the pre-season.
"He had an operation on Wednesday and it was really good. The doctor carried out a new kind of operation."

Aurelio's injury in the 75th minute took some of the shine off Liverpool's impressive away victory over PSV.
The left-back had been in good form, providing crosses for Peter Crouch and Daniel Agger to score against Arsenal on Saturday.
Benitez added: "He was playing really well, so it was a pity to see him get injured."
