Cisse is unhappy with Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez |
Lyon are contemplating making a move for Liverpool forward Djibril Cisse. The striker, 24, is currently with the France World Cup squad and is keen to leave Anfield with French champions Lyon as well as Marseille interested.
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas said: "We will study the situation closely maybe even during the two days break the French team has this weekend.
"He is a player manager] Gerard Houllier likes and Djibril has stated, Lyon could be a destination for him."
Cisse has said that he is willing to take a pay cut to join Houllier at Lyon - either on loan or in a permanent move.
He said: "Financially, you have to make some sacrifices and I'm ready to make them." "My heart leans to Marseille, but Lyon play in the Champions League and is a more stable club."
Cisse was signed from Auxerre by Houllier but was never able to play for the former France manager before he was replaced by Rafael Benitez.
