Blackburn's top-flight game against Liverpool will be played at Ewood Park on 16 April to avoid a clash with the Hillsborough Memorial service. The match was scheduled for 15 April and had originally been put back to 1715 GMT to accommodate the annual service at Anfield earlier in the day.
But the Reds' exit from Europe has allowed a change.
Rovers manager Mark Hughes said: "We have always been receptive to every sensitivity there is about the day."
"But we're mindful people have made arrangements, and the kick-off has been changed once.
"I can understand that because this kind of thing takes priority over football."
Relatives of the 96 supporters who died in the disaster at the 1989 FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest had led calls for the game to be moved as the service is normally attended by Liverpool players and officials.
