Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has said he does not want to allow unsettled keeper Jerzy Dudek to leave the club. Dudek, 32, has spoken about moving from Anfield to boost his chances of making Poland's World Cup squad after losing his place to Jose Reina.
"We are happy with Jerzy and we want to keep him," Benitez told reporters.
"Most players that do not play for their club want to go, but he has a contract, he has to stay and we want him to stay."
Dudek became a Liverpool hero as his penalty shoot-out saves helped the Reds beat AC Milan in the Champions League final in May.
But he has been quoted as saying: "I don't want to be counting on an injury to a colleague and he places me in a tough situation.
"If I don't play for my club I could wind up not going to the World Cup finals. That would be a disaster."
