Benitez eyes long-term Reds stay
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has set his sights on a long-term stay at Anfield - after receiving the green light from his wife.

The Spaniard signed a five-year contract with Liverpool after joining from Valencia in June and has quickly settled down in his new post.

"My wife is coming round to the idea we're going to stay here for 15 years," Benitez told the club's website.

"She knows I have to give this adventure a lot of time."

Bentiez's Liverpool are nine points behind Premiership leaders Arsenal and have made a reasonable start to their Champions League campaign.

And the Spaniard has been delighted with the reaction from the terraces and the boardroom alike.

"At Liverpool I feel people give the manager a lot of respect," added Benitez.

"We are safe in the knowledge that everyone in the club supports us and that is important."
