Harry Kewell says the dispute between Leeds and his agent has taken the gloss off his move to Liverpool.
The Australian forward completed his 5m move from Elland Road to Anfield on Wednesday.
However, the 24-year-old's transfer was marred by an angry exchange in the media between Leeds chairman John McKenzie and Kewell's agent Bernie Mandic.
McKenzie was livid at the way the deal was conducted which required Leeds to pay Max Sports, the company Mandic works for, 2m.
Mandic dismissed McKenzie's claims and is threatening to take legal action against Leeds and McKenzie.
The verbal scrap has left Kewell disappointed at the manner of his departure from the club he joined in 1995.
"People have said that when you move it should be a great feeling - but this other stuff has taken the shine off it. It's a great disappointment," Kewell said.

He added he felt he had done nothing wrong and was not about to get a fee as his part of the move.
"I was aware other clubs were interested - I had agents ringing me left right and centre.
"But I relayed everything I got from agents to my true agent (Mandic) and I told him to keep me in the loop.
"I knew Liverpool were interested - but I wasn't talking to them every day. The agents were.
"I haven't received a fee. I'll get my money from Liverpool and let my agent get whatever he gets - that's up to him, I know nothing about that."
Kewell will wear the number seven shirt given up by Vladimir Smicer and said he had always wanted to play for Liverpool.
