Horsfield's former clubs include West Brom, Birmingham and Fulham
Geoff Horsfield scored his first goal for Lincoln City as the Imps came from a goal down at half-time to win 2-1 at Gillingham in League Two on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old's long-range strike was followed by Dany N'Guessan's 90th-minute winner as the Imps ended a run of three successive draws.
"It was one of my sweetest strikes," Horsfield told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
"The goal came at the right time. If we can keep that winning mentality, we shouldn't be far off."
"I am tired after playing but the only way to get fit and to get stronger for games is to play as many minutes as you can and I've tried doing that.
"I've struggled for the last 10 minutes but as long as the gaffer picks me and leaves me on that's down to him."
