New Lincoln City boss Peter Jackson has appointed Neil McDonald as his assistant manager at Sincil Bank. McDonald, 42, joins the Red Imps after being sacked as manager of Carlisle United just one game into the season.
He had guided Carlisle to eighth place in League One last season in his first senior managerial position.
McDonald, a former team-mate of Jackson's at Newcastle United in the 1980s, previously held coaching roles at Preston, Bolton and Crystal Palace.
