Lincoln City have named John Schofield as their new head coach and he will work alongside the new director of football John Deehan. Schofield was the former first team coach at Sincil Bank and had been in temporary charge.
Deehan has left his position as Northampton's director of football to take up the post with the Imps.
The Imps have been without a full-time boss since parting company with Keith Alexander in late May.
Alexander has since been appointed manager of the Imps' League Two rivals, Peterborough United.
Deehan enjoyed a playing career at Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion, Ipswich and Norwich.
Between 1989 and 1992 he went on to be coach at Manchester City before joining Mike Walker at Norwich as his assistant.
Deehan started the 1995-96 season as manager of Wigan Athletic in the Third Division, and after two seasons at the helm, guided them to the title.
After that he had spells at Sheffield United and Aston Villa as assistant before joining the Cobblers in 2003.
