Striker Ryan Jarvis has agreed a new one-year contract with Leyton Orient.

The 23-year-old, who scored eight goals this season, is the first of the O's out-of-contract players to put pen to paper for next season.

"Last season was a big improvement for me and there's more to come," he told the club website.

Orient are still waiting for Tamika Mkandawire, Adam Chambers, Scott McGliesh, Jason Demetriou, Charlie Daniels and Cestor Mike to pen deals.

Fakenham-born Jarvis will begin his third season at Orient having also enjoyed a loan spell at Brisbane Road in the 2006/7 season.

"I'm really pleased to have signed a new deal. I always wanted to stay at Orient," he continued.

"The new manager [Russell Slade] has come in and done brilliantly and I'm sure we can push higher up the table next season."

Jarvis began his career as a trainee at Norwich and has had loan spells at Colchester, Kilmarnock and Notts County.
