Ling hopes to negotiate new deal

O's boss Martin Ling has made it clear he wants to stay at Brisbane Road

Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling has rubbished reports linking him with a move away from the club.

Ling, 42, recently linked with the vacancy at his old club Swindon Town, said: "Without a shadow of a doubt I want to stay at Leyton Orient.

"I have to be interested in everything because I've only got seven months left on the contract," he told BBC London 94.9. "But it's all talk.

"There's been no contact with Swindon through me or the club."

Ling, who took over at Orient in 2003, expects talks over a contract extension to begin soon with O's chairman Barry Hearn.

"I've got no problem with the football club and no problem with Barry Hearn because we've always had a good understanding," he said. "I expect talks to happen when he comes back.

"Over a six-year period I think I've done a good job.

"There's no gun held to anyone's head. The question was asked because of the Swindon situation and I answered it honestly."
