The 23-year-old, who had a spell on loan at Port Vale last season, was released by Bristol City during the summer and had a trial at QPR.

"I'm delighted to have signed Clayton as he's a player that's been on my list since Christmas," O's manager martin Ling told the club's website.

"I got him in the building for the first time on Monday and just 48 hours later he signed."
