Foxes set for tough start - Steve Walsh

Leicester City

Leicester City assistant manager Steve Walsh says his side face a tough start to next season.

The Foxes open their campaign at Crystal Palace on 7 August, before taking on Middlesbrough and Burnley.

Walsh told the club website: "It certainly looks like a tough opening to the season.

"But that will provide good competition for the squad and an early test. We'll look to do as well as we can and see where we are at the end of the month."

Walsh said the Foxes want to build on last season's fifth-place finish but also get results against rivals.

He said: "You do look at the games against Derby, Forest and Coventry and you always want to do well against those teams, but we have to remember it's only three points.

"You still have to play everyone twice throughout the season, and it's about where you are at the end of the season that matters."
