Leicester City striker Matty Fryatt says he is having the best season of his career with the Foxes.

The 22-year-old has scored 23 goals this season and taken the League One player of the month award for December.

Fryatt told BBC Radio Leicester: "It's been the best half season... I'll hopefully finish the way I started.

"You have confidence and sometimes the shots you don't expect to go in do because you're on that run - it's a good feeling to have."

Fryatt added: "You just try everything and it always seems to come off when you're flying high."

The former Walsall player said he owed a lot to strike partner Steve Howard.

"It's great playing with Steve he takes all the knocks and does all the work and I'm normally there to tap it in, so most of the credit goes to Steve," he said.

Leicester are now four points clear of MK Dons at the top of League One.
