Striker Iain Hume has signed a new three-year deal at Leicester. The 23-year-old Canadian international joined the Foxes in August 2005 and has been the club's leading scorer in his two seasons at the Walkers Stadium.
Having slotted nine league goals in his first campaign, Hume recorded 13 in the Championship last term.
New manager Martin Allen is "delighted" at securing his services until the end of the 2009/10 season: "He's a player I have a huge respect for."
Hume, who is currently on international duty with Canada, has scored a total of 23 goals in 73 City starts.
"I'm thoroughly delighted that Iain has pledged his future to the club," said chairman Milan Mandaric. "In the short time I've been involved here he has been one of our outstanding performers."
