Leicester City manager Rob Kelly has signed Preston midfielder Jason Jarrett on an initial one-month loan deal. The 27-year-old, who spent a month at Hull City last year, becomes Kelly's fourth signing of the year and he said: "I'm delighted to get him.
"He is a player I know a lot about. He is the modern box-to-box midfielder and that is exactly what we need now."
Jarrett helped Wigan gain promotion to the Premiership in 2005 and has also played for Norwich and Plymouth.
And Kelly hopes that experience will be vital in the Foxes' own bid for survival this season.
"He's been promoted out of the division and knows what it takes to be successful in the Championship.
"I'm sure he will be a really good addition to us."
Kelly has already signed Mark Yeates, Geoff Horsfield and Luigi Glombard in January.
