Lineker's consortium is happy with the figures |
Leicester City have announced losses of 4.5m in the period after coming out of administration. But the figures are still better than anticipated for the consortium led by former England international Gary Lineker who took over in February.
The Foxes chief executive officer Tim Davies said: "This loss was caused by the club being taken over in mid-season, without most of the annual income, but with full costs for the period."
The results announced are from 13 February to 31 May and Davies said the club exceeded expectations during that period when they won promotion to the Premier League.
Davies said: "The company operated significantly ahead of forecast for this period.
"Our loss for the period before taxation was 4,591,000.
"I would like to pay a special tribute to all those involved in saving the club and for supporting the club during this very difficult period.
"To name but a few, we thank all the fans for their support - both vocal and financial - the staff, the business community of Leicester and Leicestershire and our shareholders."
