McCahill takes over at the Walker's Stadium |
Newly-promoted Leicester have unveiled Jim McCahill as their new chairman. The 64-year-old Corby businessman succeeds Jon Holmes, who stepped down after heading the consortium which took the club out of administration four months ago.
McCahill has supported the Foxes for 40 years and is the managing director of an engineering consultancy company.
Leicester will return to the Premiership next season after finishing runners-up to First Division champions Portsmouth.
McCahill told the club's website: "This is a tremendous honour for me and never in my wildest dreams did I ever see myself as a chairman of the football club.
"I have always tried to help the football club in any way possible and, as chairman, I will continue to do my very best to serve it.
"This is a new era for the club and I hope I will be able to use my business experience to add to the board and bring stability to the club," he added.
Leicester businessman Peter Hockenhull has been appointed as the club's new vice-chairman.
