The Foxes had announced that, under a new 10-year deal with Walker Snacks Ltd, the 35m stadium would be called The Walkers Bowl. However, that name was not popular with fans and officials have bowed to their pressure.
Walkers chief executive Martin Glenn said: "We pride ourselves as a business on listening to what our customers like and want and that is no different to the naming of the Leicester City stadium. "We have listened and learned and acted. "We have had long discussions with the club itself and we have both agreed that we will drop bowl from the name of the stadium and it will now be known as The Walkers Stadium." Leicester City - already relegated from the Premiership this term - will unveil their new ground at the start of the 2002/3 season as they kick off their bid for immediate promotion from the Nationwide League. | See also: Other top Leicester City stories: Links to more Leicester City stories are at the foot of the page. | |||
