Leeds snap up Birmingham City forward Gary McSheffrey
McSheffey's last goal for Blues came against Man City in March 2008
Leeds United have signed forward Gary McSheffrey on loan from Birmingham City until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old, who has made nine appearances for the Premier League side this season, goes straight into the squad for the visit of Colchester.
Leeds boss Simon Grayson told the club website: "Gary brings plenty of experience and he is a good signing.
"He will add quality to the squad. He is a threat and he can play a number of positions," he added.
McSheffrey joined Birmingham in a £4m deal from Coventry in 2006, scoring 16 goals in his first season at St Andrew's to help Blues win promotion to the Premier League under then manager Steve Bruce.
But he slipped down the pecking order following the arrival of Alex McLeish and had a month-long spell on loan at Nottingham Forest last season.
