Leeds United captain Richard Naylor played his first competitive football since May on Wednesday night.
Naylor has been out of action since the end of last season after undergoing surgery on his back.
He played an hour for the reserves in their 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough at the Riverside.
Enoch Showunmi and Tresor Kandol scored first-half goals as Leeds reserves extended their unbeaten start to the season to three games.
