Leeds United manager Gary McAllister has insisted that he is the right man for the job despite their FA Cup humiliation at Histon on Sunday.
It is the first time Leeds have been knocked out of the competition by non-League opposition.
"I feel as if I'm the guy that can get this club into the Championship," McAllister told BBC Radio Leeds.
"I think I've started pushing this club in the right direction, but that decision's not mine is it?"
Matthew Langston's first-half header stunned Leeds and prompted an angry reaction on the final whistle from the travelling supporters at the Glass World Stadium.
And McAllister pulled no punches when asked for his reaction to the defeat.
"Well what do you think my reaction is? That's a leading question.
"I'm absolutely not good. I know how important this is and I just sometimes wonder if they [the players] know the importance of this result today.

"I just felt we were a little sloppy at times, some of the passing was very sloppy and untidy -I've banged on about this for a long time now.
"Everybody's had a chance and just at crucial times today our decision making was poor."
Although angry at the result, McAllister denied that his side had been outfought by a side 43 places below them in the league pyramid.
"There's no way you can throw that at the Leeds United players today," he insisted.
