Jermaine Beckford has spearheaded Leeds' attack

Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford has been named the League One Player of the Month for September.

He scored four goals in as many games including a brace in the win against Swindon Town.

Beckford's goals helped United to maximum points from their four league games during September.

David Forde of Millwall, Craig Mackail-Smith of Peterborough United and Southend United's Dougie Freedman were also shortlisted for the award.
