Leeds United defender Paul Butler has been told he can leave the club, reports BBC Radio Leeds. Dennis Wise stripped Butler of the club captaincy after taking over as manager two weeks ago.
Centre-half Butler, 34, moved to Elland Road on a free transfer from Wolves in July 2004 and has played 106 games, scoring four goals.
Meanwhile new loan signing Matt Heath will make his debut for Leeds at home against Colchester United on Saturday.
