Kilmarnock striker Kevin Kyle has been ruled out for up to four weeks with a cartilage injury.
Kyle will therefore miss Scotland's upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Macedonia and the Netherlands.
The former Sunderland forward has been recalled to the international squad for the first time in five years.
Midfielder Jamie Hamill is also set for a spell on the sidelines for Jim Jefferies' side but is expected to return to the first team before Kyle.
