Dodds has been dogged by injuries throughout his career

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies has handed injury-hit midfielder Rhian Dodds a new short-term contract.

The 29-year-old failed to make the requisite number of appearances to trigger an extended deal but will now stay on until December.

Dodds has only managed eight starts for the Rugby Park club this term, his fifth season at Killie.

Dodds, who scored in August's 2-1 win at Motherwell, has not played since a defeat to Rangers on 1 December.
