Jefferies says Killie failed to show up against Gretna

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies said the side that succumbed 4-2 to Gretna were unrecognisable from the one that defeated Aberdeen 3-1 at the weekend.

Gretna raced into a 4-0 lead before Killie staged a mini-fightback with late goals from Simon Ford and William Gibson to make the score respectable.

"After a terrific display on Sunday that was very disappointing - it was shocking defending," Jefferies said.

"You can't win games gifting goals the way we did - we weren't solid enough."
