Trio keep Killie waiting on deals
Gary Locke and Gordon Greer
Gary Locke and Gordon Greer have yet to sign new deals
Kilmarnock are awaiting answers from Gordon Greer, Gary Locke and Peter Leven after offering the trio new contracts for next season.

Personal circumstances could lead to former Blackburn Rovers defender Greer looking for a return to England.

Midfielder Leven has yet to tell boss Jim Jefferies his decision.

And veteran Locke, who has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, will decide at the end of the season whether to continue his playing career.

But Jefferies is hopeful that, even if the 31-year-old decides to retire, he will remain part of the backroom staff.

"The rest that were out of contract, the contracts are being drawn up just now and it's just a case of getting them in to sign them," the manager told BBC Sport.

"Gordon Greer wants to stay here, but he is getting married and she comes from england and there's a chance she might want to move back and he might want to keep his options open by going south.

"If he stays here, I'm sure there will be no problem.

"Gary Locke's position will be discussed at the end of the season regarding his fitness and the coaching side and what he wants to do.

"The way he performed against Celtic and came on as a sub a few times, he has done well for us.

"If he can play just some part next season, we can build a contract around that.

"But, at the very least, I hope he will be part of the backroom staff for the next couple of seasons."
