Kidderminster Harriers boss Jan Molby will be patient in his bid to former Mansfield striker Iyseden Christie.
Christie is sidelined through injury but is taking part in pre-season training with the Harriers squad.
The 27-year-old will have surgery in August to operate on the foot he broke at Bury last season.
Molby told the club website: "We would have to wait a month for him to get back to full fitness, he is the type of player I'd be prepared to wait for."
"He is a player I have tried to sign before and I would like to bring him here permanently," Molby added.
"He has a very strong physical presence and can score goals at this level."
