Cooper wants a repeat of last season's FA Cup heroics
Kettering Town manager Mark Cooper has targeted another FA Cup run as a means of boosting the club's finances.
The Poppies made it through to the final 32 last season before losing to Fulham, and now visit Hartlepool for a first-round tie on Saturday.
"It's a big game for us, purely and simply because we need to make progress to bring in some revenue," Cooper told BBC Radio Northampton.
"Every club at this level is in the same position."
Kettering left it late to book their place in the first round, scoring in extra-time to gain a 1-0 victory over Redditch in a fourth qualifying round replay.
"We'll be trying to make life as uncomfortable as possible for Hartlepool," Cooper added.
"If they don't give us respect and their levels drop then we have a chance of doing something, but I'm sure they'll plan just as they would for a League One game.
"We just need to play as well as we can and get a bit of luck."
